Note from Our Founder
Welcome, My name is Malinda Smith. I am the proud founder and Executive Director/Owner of ABC Child Care Center and ABC Child Care Village. In 1976, God blessed me by leading me to Temecula where I raised my two wonderful children, Dave and Angel. Dave and his beautiful wife Rachel have given me three gorgeous granddaughters -- Noah, Charlie and Tegan are the “loves of my life”.
I opened ABC Preschool in January 1991. To continue to meet the growing demands of our community, we researched in depth and designed the 1st “state of the art” childcare facility, ABC Child Care Center, which opened in 1994 and is located at 29705 Solana Way. It soon became evident that the community recognized the value of quality childcare for their families. To meet the ever-growing demand, we opened the doors of our 2nd “state of the art” facility, ABC Village, in July 2004. All of this would not be possible if not for my wonderful team of trained, caring professionals. Here at ABC our staff is one large family! Each and every child that attends the school and their families becomes a part of our extended family. It has truly been a blessing to work with children everyday. I consider myself fortunate to be in a field where we can make such a positive impact on a child during these critical formative years of their life.
In 1993, ABC Preschool became the 1st N.A.E.Y.C accredited center in the Southwest County. We are very proud to have earned this national accreditation. This placed our facility among only 8% of all preschools nationwide that have received this honor. ABC Childcare Center has received the prestigious honor of being named the “largest” accredited childcare center in the state of California.
I believe in contributing and actively supporting my community that is dear to my heart. I thank God each and every day for the blessings he has given me, especially the opportunity to share and touch so many lives. Malinda Smith - Founder
 Malinda Smith, the owner and executive director of ABC Child Care Center, has been a pioneer in the child care field for over 17 years. Recognizing the need for major changes in the way children are cared for in the US, Malinda rose to the challenge. She designed and built a state-of-the-art facility, compiled a staff of quality professionals led by a fabulous management team, and is considered by many to have raised the bar for quality child care in the nation.
Some of her more remarkable achievements include:
- Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, 1996
- Ernst & Young's Inland Empire Entrepreneur of the Year, 2000
- Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce Platinum Business of the Year, 2000
